Letter Sweep
What URL do you get when you type each letter of the alphabet into the address bar? Tim Bray started it with an article entitled Letter Sweep. Eric Meyer and others published theirs. A fun exercise. Here's mine:
[A]ikenseniornet.com - I administer the web site and voluteer teach there.
Gmail - In[b]ox - my inbox, probably my most visited URL.
Wordpress.[c]om - a little used blog of mine.
[D]aring Fireball Markdown - I write the content for this site in Markdown, using Writemonkey. Great software.
[E]SPN - yes, I'm a sports nut.
[F]eeds - my named shortcut to my Google Reader for RSS feeds.
[G]oodreads - I use it more to find books I might enjoy than to keep up with what I've read.
[H]ome Depot - it's spring.
[I]MDB - you have to do something when you're not at the computer. :-)
[J]cby.com- my personal web site.
Need to [K]now - been a long time since I've visited this site, so I'm surprised it still pops up.
A [L]ist Apart - after all, I do maintain two web sites.
[M]asters.com - well, the tournament was only last month.
[N]etflix - we don't get out to the movies much, but . . .
G[o]ogle Calendar - my life schedule.
Family [P]hotos - just what it says and a way to share.
[Q] - interesting that I did not have any URLs with Q in the title, only ones with Q deep in the URL string.
[R]eddit - haven't even been there for a while, so surprised this one hasn't been replaced.
Markdown [S]yntax - I've just started using Markdown for my site content, so this is not surprising.
[T]extbroker - I keep thinking about doing some writing for them, but haven't yet.
[U] - no U's . . .
[V] - or V's.
[W]ritemonkey - best low-distraction editor around for writing.
I[X] Web Hosting - my web hosting service.
[Y]ahoo - one of the news sites I check daily.
[Z] - again, the only Z's are buried deep in the URL string.
